Innovative new Dock-Launched UAS Surveillance System

Evolve Dynamics, IDroneInnnovations, Leading Edge and SLiNK-TECH are delighted to announce the formation of an all-British partnership to deliver a new Dock-Launched Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) Surveillance System for defence, first responders, and critical national infrastructure base protection.
All innovative British technology companies, the three partners are collaborating to offer a sovereign base protection solution able to be deployed remotely to emergency situations and to inspect critical national infrastructure, dramatically reducing response times, minimising the risk to personnel, and reducing reliance on expensive resources such as helicopters.
Designer and manufacturer of advanced UAS, Evolve Dynamics, has partnered with drone deployment and software company IDroneInnovations (IDI), off-grid power provider Leading Edge, and automated vertiport specialists SLiNK-TECH.
The Drone-in-a-Box solution will bring together three systems:
- At the centre is Evolve Dynamics’ new Wolfe UAS, a sub-4 kg, ultra-rugged drone spiral developed based on learnings from Ukraine battlefield deployment. Its exceptional stability in high winds and heavy weather coupled with extended flight time make it an invaluable asset for surveillance and reconnaissance in the harshest environments, ideal for challenging emergency situations and isolated infrastructure.
- The drone deployment system and software supplied by IDI are equipped with features that support long-range remote operations and enhance operational capabilities in data gathering.
- A standalone power source will be provided by Leading Edge, integrating solar power into the drone enclosure to offer an off-grid, net-zero power source to the system’s batteries.
The three systems will be integrated together so that Wolfe UAS will be housed in, and deployed from, the IDI enclosure, with batteries charged autonomously by an integrated power supply from Leading Edge. Batteries will be swapped out and recharged automatically when required, to enable operation without human monitoring.
Evolve Dynamics’ UAS are trusted to deliver surveillance and reconnaissance on Ukraine’s frontline, and by the British Army, Royal Navy, MOD Police and UK Border Force. IDI’s drone enclosure solutions have been trialled by the UK National Police Chiefs’ Council in Southampton, UK for over a year, with more than 1,000 BVLOS flights completed.
Evolve Dynamics’ CEO Tom Redman commented:
“Building on our success with Innovate UK, we are delighted to bring to market this all-sovereign solution for remote drone operation together with UK partners IDI and Leading Edge. The Dock-Launched UAS Surveillance System’s unique capability is to deploy remotely in coastal and isolated locations, providing eyes onto a situation very rapidly with minimal human involvement. We are excited to realise this new technology’s potential for emergency responders and our national infrastructure.”
Founder and CEO of IDI, Peter Campbell, commented:
“We are incredibly proud to have our vision validated and supported by UK Policing. For too long, the true potential of BVLOS drones for public good has been held back by fragmented systems. This partnership is about breaking down those barriers, and we are honoured to be working directly with forward-thinking services to solve their real-world challenges. With our exceptional partners, we are building an open, collaborative ecosystem that will empower operators, save lives, secure our critical infrastructure, and establish the UK as a world leader in safe, scalable drone automation.”
